USA PREORDERS SOLD OUT - BAR - IGU - 002 - DXA - IGetUp/IcesJazz 7"

DXA is a four man crew from NYC. They have been listening to Hip-Hop their entire lives and grew up immersed in the culture that goes along with it. They have been homies for years and have put out numerous projects going back to 2005. Their next in endeavor is the 7" single for their upcoming full-length project. The songs are titled 'I Get Up' and 'Ice's Jazz'. The single will be pressed up on 7" vinyl with a very unique design and released in collaboration with Blunted Astronaut Records and DXA Records.

"I Get Up" is a tune with multiple meanings and has a feel reminiscent of the Native Tongues movement. It is about getting up and going for yours and pursuing your dreams. The lyrics of this song will take you on a journey of what it means to be dedicated to something and not giving up on your dreams, even though sometimes you might not see the impact or results of what your doing right away. The song also reflects on DXA's musical passion which is the reason for getting up in the morning and living life.

"Ice's Jazz" is a tune with a heavy jazz influence. It started out as an experiment and was originally destined for a different project but as it came together it started to take on a life of its own and found a perfect fit with the songs DXA was currently working on. The track is an instrumental composed of a lot of different elements for your audio exploration. It is IceRocks' ode to Gang Starr's "DJ Premier in Deep Concentration" and Pete Rock's "Pete's Jazz", hence the name. It was a way for him to display his talent as a producer and explore the instrumental world.

DFACE's Top SkateBoard Kicks List

ok, before i ever wrote graff or actively was a part of hiphop,,before the j's, the bo's hte barkleys, etc... I skateboarded. So did Icerocks and so did calamity. i dont really talk about it or ever consider myself a skater cuz by the time i was a freshman in highschool i completely stopped skateboarding. i did have fun skateboarding tho and now when i reflect on my life, skateboarding is part of why i started collecting kicks. before skateboarding i dont think i ever had more than the pair of kicks i was wearing and the pair of kicks that i had last fucked up. so with this drawn out intro im a give you a list of some skateboarding kicks that i think are fly as fuck.

this is all 95-97 era shit

ok when i think back and pick out the flyest shit in my memory it is the DC Boxers.

next shit is the kicks i started rockin after i skated holes in all of my DC Boxers, DC SYNTAX

the black ones were my shit

these are the etnies sal barbier 23's.  i had a pair with a lil ollie guard on the front.  these were pretty sick to me and i heard they were rereleased in 08

and these are the chad muska's. this guy is a dirtbag who tried to rap but he came out wiht some dope shoes that had a stash pocket in the toungue. very ingenious shoe.

even tho i never messed wit em i gotta give the vans half cabs an honorable mention.  they were reissued in 98 as well.

and for the record nobody skated in nikes. i did kno some cats that rocked adidas but not shell toes. its kinda funny how cool skateboarding has become nowadays tho. if any other kicks pop into my mind ill do a part two. but id kill to have a reissue of any of these kicks. especially the muskas!
